Founder Story
I grew up as a Tibetan refugee in a small town in the foothills of the Himalayas in India. The only transport available to me was the school bus. We had to walk to all other places, walking was a way of life. Travel and other places fascinated me ever since I can remember. My first saving of my pocket money at the age of 8 years old was spent on a patent leather suitcase. I packed my clothes in it every day. So I can truly say that ‘travel and adventures’ has always been my passion.
When I emigrated to Australia and joined Thor Travel in 1988, my aim was to create a business that cared for not only its valued clients, but also for its valued staff and team members. I wanted to inspire our customers to travel, not only by the decoration and souvenirs in our office, but by the enthusiasm, experience and knowledge of our team. I am pleased to say that each of our team members have been chosen for all this and their continued thirst for travel.
At Thor Travel we work together as a team so our customers benefit from all our combined knowledge and experience. We are grateful to all our clients for their repeat business, and for recommending Thor Travel to their family and friends. Our aim is to be referred to travellers who are looking for good reliable service.
