I grew up as a Tibetan refugee in a small town in the foothills of the Himalayas in India. The only transport available to me was the school bus. We had to walk to all other places, walking was a way of life. Travel and other places fascinated me ever since I can remember. My first saving of my pocket money at the age of 8 years old was spent on a patent leather suitcase. I packed my clothes in it every day. So I can truly say that ‘travel and adventures’ has always been my passion.
When I emigrated to Australia and joined Thor Travel in 1988, my aim was to create a business that cared for not only its valued clients, but also for its valued staff and team members. I wanted to inspire our customers to travel, not only by the decoration and souvenirs in our office, but by the enthusiasm, experience and knowledge of our team. I am pleased to say that each of our team members have been chosen for all this and their continued thirst for travel.
At Thor Travel we work together as a team so our customers benefit from all our combined knowledge and experience. We are grateful to all our clients for their repeat business, and for recommending Thor Travel to their family and friends. Our aim is to be referred to travellers who are looking for good reliable service.

Growing up with parents associated with the tourism industry, I found my passion for travel at a young age. I began my career within the industry in 2011. Working for an Australia based Adventure Travel Company I was given the opportunity to experience the outback and surrounding areas of Australia.
I then spent 7 months travelling extensively through Europe and the UK, experiencing both independent and group tour travel. Some of my favourite destinations include Ireland, Turkey, Czech, Greece, Hungary, Switzerland, Austria and Portugal.
Upon my return I moved into an International Travel Consultant Role.
I have also travelled broadly through Canada, from the luxury of Gold Leaf on the Rocky Mountaineer and Fairmont Lake Louise to hiking through Banff National Park and the Alberta Icefields.
In Asia I have travelled to Indonesia, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
My most recent adventure was to Sri Lanka, experiencing the amazing culture, history and diverse landscapes.
With no explanation, other than perhaps her multi-cultural lineage; or the many camping trips as a child; just being on the move; seeing new places; meeting new people and hearing their stories has always been an innate desire for Kimberly. The excitement for travel is the buzz of being at an airport, any airport, regardless of whether departing or farewelling. Or simply seeing an interstate number plate. So upon graduating from high school, she knew that the travel industry was where it was at for her, and went on to complete a Bachelor in Business and Tourism Management.
Kimberly has travelled our sun-burnt country extensively by plane, train and camper-trailer – the latter with her one year old son in tow. With her first dabble in travel abroad as a 21 year old landing in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, central Canada to embark on a road trip through some of the most scenic ski villages throughout Alberta and British Colombia.
From here her travels have taken her to northern New Zealand; touring in Vietnam; escorting private group tours in China and Norfolk Island; river cruising throughout Europe; ocean cruising to the South Pacific Islands of Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia; and a jaunt on the marvel that is the Cunards’s Queen Mary 2.
Kimberly has a strong ‘cruise sale’ background; so for any cruise holidays you may be considering, please email
