Have The Himalaya. The word alone conjures up images of the grandeur of the world’s highest mountains, where folklore and history conjoin in tales from the distant past. It’s the kaleidoscope of experiences that make the Himalaya so special– the play of light on the towering mountains, prayer flags strung across windswept passes, the smile from a mountain porter, remote villages perched amid some of the most striking and contrasting landscapes on earth and where countless friendships are formed between local and foreigners along the Himalayan trails.
World Expeditions have been pioneering adventure travel to the Himalaya for over 40 years and our Himalaya Road Show is a unique opportunity to hear from our CEO Sue Badyari. Sue has been part of our team since 1986 and first trekked in the Himalaya when she was 14. It was this trip that ignited her love for adventure travel, particularly a passion for the Himalaya. Sue has made regular trips to Nepal, Bhutan and the Indian Himalayan over the last three decades and shares a deep knowledge for the culture, history and trekking opportunities in these spectacular regions. .
With an in-depth understanding of the physical and cultural landscapes of the Himalaya, Sue will bring to life the practical aspects of travelling to the Himalaya, highlight some of the classic as well as lesser-known trekking regions, and share some of his observations from his most recent visits to Nepal.
Whether you want to trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, tour the sacred sites of Lhasa, absorb the traditional culture of Bhutan, hike a section (or perhaps all) of the Great Himalaya Trail, climb to the summit of a Himalayan peak, or experience a majestic sunrise over the Indus Valley in Ladakh, come along and be inspired by everything the Himalaya has to offer in our Himalaya Road Show.
Join us and be inspired by what opportunities await you in the Himalaya region and also enjoy special discounts and lucky-door prizes!
